Description
A single rooted cutting from my mother plant! Main photo shows the mother plant; available is a rooted segment. US grown in my greenhouse from a well-established, 5 year old plant!
Miqueliopuntia miquelii produces new growth once per year, and is slow to develop to significant size as a result. Beautiful blue flesh that develops a powdery farina with adequate light and heat – these are not ideal for the novice grower, but a great introduction to more advanced cactus growing. If you have the ability to keep them hot and bright through most of the year, with protection from winter temperatures below 30F, they are an extremely attractive specimen you’ll find easy to grow.
They really, really need lots of bright light and heat. When you receive yours, however, don’t immediately put it full sun! Give it a few days in partial sun, partial shade, before moving to increased sunlight.
Shipped bare root (no pot, no soil) in compliance with CA regulations.
