Description
Beautiful little purple cacti that stay a manageable size, ideal for potted cultivation. They are slow growing, but easy to maintain. In proper light, they are a deep, rich purple color that is impossible to ignore.
These are seed-grown from my own greenhouse plants. Well-established young plants in 2″ pots, these can be repotted into 2″ pots or potted up to the next size, where they’ll happily grow for several years before needing to be repotted again.
Tolerant of nighttime lows to 32F easily; may tolerate even colder if kept dry during winter.
Use a well-draining soil mix; preferably 50/50 pumice to cactus and succulent soil. Minimal fertilizer is needed, and none at all is recommended the first year after potting. If you do need to feed them, use a 1:1:1 fertilizer at half strength during the first half of the growing season (late spring, early summer).
