Description
Seed grown in the US from seed imported from UK collectors.
This species is typically not green in color, instead more typically a light gray to a blue hue. They range in pattern on the leaf faces from heavy dotting to a more uniform windowing effect. The “Ventergreen” form is, as you might imagine, green where the nominate form is not.
Some plants are greener than others, but all came from the same seed packets.
In habitat, they’re known to grow and thrive in more alkaline soils, with pH levels at about 8.3 to 8.7 (perhaps why these have done so well for me, with our naturally alkaline tap water). They produce yellow flowers in late summer/early fall, after they’ve woken up from summer dormancy and have had a decent amount of water. Fast growing, they bloom young – these have not bloomed yet for me, but may begin doing so in the next year or so.
Shipped bare root.
